A quarter century of achievements: cosine 25th-anniversary celebration

On 24 November 2023, we commemorated 25 years of cosine at our headquarters in Sassenheim, with our staff, alumni, and friends of cosine. This event provided a nice opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues as well as reflect on pivotal moments in the company’s history.

Celebrating 25 years is a unique moment in life. This year was particularly special for cosine, with numerous celebrations, completed projects and new ones started, and a multitude of achievements. Notably, cosine successfully completed the delivery of HyperScout H to the European Space Agency (ESA) in preparation for the Hera mission, and continued to ready the mass production of Silicon Pore Optics for ESA’s Athena mission.

The celebration, shared with our current and former colleagues, carried a nostalgic undertone. Reflecting on the 25 years of the company, cosine’s founder and Managing Director Prof. Dr Marco Beijersbergen remarked with emotion: “In 25 years, cosine has achieved many milestones. We have participated in 350 projects, collaborated with 100 different customers, received 120 contracts from ESA, accomplished 2119 missions, opened offices in 5 different locations, hosted 2 PhDs, and employed 60 student internships. These statistics highlight cosine’s dedication to research and innovation. Let’s cheer for one team and 25 years of cosine success!”

Managing Directors of cosine and cosine Remote Sensing, Max Collon and Dr Marco Esposito, also delivered speeches and expressed their gratitude for the efforts of our dedicated teams at cosine.

To revisit this memorable celebration, here are a few photos below.
