Every year in June, the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Ruimtevaart (NVR) organizes its Annual General Membership Meeting at one of their members’ facilities. This time, the meeting took place at cosine’s headquarters in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, on 26 June.
During these membership meetings, the association addresses its members and provides them with an opportunity to introduce topics. After an introduction by one of cosine’s managing directors, Prof Dr. Marco Beijersbergen, the following topics were discussed: the secretarial annual report from last year, the financial annual report from last year, the budget, and the composition of the board. The NVR makes the Annual General Meeting an interesting event by not only having the board members introduce themselves but also by allowing representatives from various committees to speak. Furthermore, they strive to select a location that offers members a glimpse behind the scenes, which is not usually accessible to them.
Following the meeting, guests were given a guided tour of our 1,000 m2 cleanrooms and high-tech facilities, where we develop our innovative measurement systems and instruments. Within these facilities, our 50+ members of cosine work on the development of hundreds of X-ray optics mirror modules for ESA’s upcoming large X-ray telescope, Athena. This is also where we create our numerous remote sensing solutions to cater to the diverse applications of our customers.
To conclude the evening, a social gathering was organized, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy a drink.
