The Italy-Netherlands Business Forum: ‘Sharing experiences, creating synergies’ was held on 15 May 2023, at the Wereldmuseum in Rotterdam. cosine was invited to meet with the Italian and Dutch Deputy Prime Ministers, Antonio Tajani and Wopke Hoekstra, as well as with representatives of the private sector to discuss ways of strengthening the collaboration between the Netherlands and Italy. Dr Marco Esposito, cosine Remote Sensing Managing Director, participated in the event and discussed the ambitions of cosine in both countries.
The forum served as an important part of the bilateral ministerial consultations between the Netherlands and Italy, the ‘Van Wittel-Vanvitelli Dialogue’. It was organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy in the Hague to open a dialogue with Antonio Tajani, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, and Wopke Hoekstra, the Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as with representatives of the private sector of both countries. The forum discussed ways of strengthening the collaboration between the Netherlands and Italy.
As a European leader in the space sector with headquarters in the Netherlands and also operating in Italy through cosine Remote Sensing S.r.l., our Italian branch, cosine was part of the aerospace panel and discussed with the ministers experiences and examples of Dutch-Italian collaboration, as well as ideas on how to further foster the connection between the two countries.
The forum provided an excellent opportunity for cosine to connect with potential new partners and showcase our unique work. Its primary objective was to bring together both large and small companies, as well as the key trade associations from various sectors, to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Italy and the Netherlands. The focus was put on three sectors: Energy & Environment, Aerospace, Biomedical Innovation & Semiconductors. For each of these sectors, a panel was organized with presentations by a selection of companies to illustrate their ambitions in both countries.
Dr Marco Esposito remarked: “It was an honor to meet the deputy prime ministers of both countries. We discussed that space is becoming a global commercial business, therefore exploiting synergies and strengthening the collaboration between Italy and the Netherlands is important to gain market share and to win over the international competition. We are looking forward to following up with both ministries.”
