cosine sponsors high school students: FTC Team Space

cosine sponsored a group of Dutch high school students (Newman College, Breda, the Netherlands), who work together as FTC Team Space. Their goal was to raise enough funds to travel to St. Louis, MO, America, in April 2017, to participate in the 2017 FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship, representing the Netherlands. FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. The challenge is to design, build and program a robot, from scratch, which is put through a series of tests. Their best result: they were nominated for the Connect Award, which is awarded to the team that most connects with their local and engineering community.

FTC Team Space have not only been working on their robot, which they dubbed Self Programmed Android Controlled Entity (S.P.A.C.E.), but have also visited local elementary schools and high schools, sharing their enthusiasm for robotics and encouraging participation in the FIRST LEGO League challenge, which is suitable for kids aged 9-15.
