cosine to present Silicon Pore Optics at ICSO 2022

cosine will be present at the International Conference on Space Optics (ICSO) 2022 in Dubrovnik, Croatia from 3 to 7 October. During this event, managing director Max Collon will give a talk about Silicon Pore Optics (SPO) and cosine’s projects in high energy optics.

cosine is world leading in the development of novel high energy optics technology and will present its SPO technology on Monday 3 October 2022 at 14:00 in room 3.

ICSO 2022 is the 14th edition of the largest meeting worldwide of experts working in all disciplines of optical, optoelectronic and photonic technologies for space applications. The purpose of ICSO is to bring together the space optics community and exchange information and ideas on the research, development, qualification and flight experience of using optical technologies for space missions. Technology experts meet mission experts to address the lessons learned from past developments and identify the next significant developments in employing light-wave technologies and techniques used in all types of space missions.

About SPO

Silicon Pore Optics is the novel technology that produces the building blocks for Athena’s modular telescope, enabling the production of the largest X-ray optic ever flown. This technology was developed by cosine in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) and involves the bonding and stacking of many silicon wafers, creating a novel type of light-weight X-ray lens. This technology offers significant advantages for a variety of applications, ranging from telescopes, to material analysis and medical applications.
