HyperScout showcased at Web Summit 2022

cosine will participate in the Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon, from 1-4 November. Dr Marco Esposito, managing director of cosine Remote Sensing, will be present at the booth of Φ-lab (Phi-lab) to showcase HyperScout and the onboard Artificial Intelligence (AI) that enabled ESA’s Φ-sat mission.

The Web Summit is one of the most important tech events in the world, drawing over 70,000 people to Lisbon every year. The event gathers the founders and CEOs of technology companies, fast-growing startups, policymakers, and heads of state to redefine the global tech industry. As partners of Φ-lab, cosine has been invited to take part in the event.

cosine is a leading worldwide company in the development of measurement solutions with onboard processing. Our company and Φ-lab are currently collaborating on the European Space Agency’s Earth Observation Φ-sat mission. This mission constitutes the first experiment to demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used for Earth observation – in this case, filtering out less than perfect images so that only usable data is returned to Earth. It intends to accelerate the future of Earth observation by means of transformational innovations. Hyperspectral imaging system HyperScout 2, developed by cosine, is at the heart of the mission, with its onboard AI processor enabling the Φ-sat mission.

Note that cosine has recently received the ESA Team Achievement Award 2022 for the success of HyperScout 2 in this mission.
